 Well I'm having fun playing with color......

IN-COLORS that is. They really seem to pop when adding black and vanilla for a deep contrast.

Both of the images were stamped with Black Staz-on INK # 101406 on vanilla CS and then WATERCOLORED using the In-Colors classic ink pads and an AQUAPAINTER# 103954.

1. Start watercoloring with your lightest ink color     first.

    I used In-Color Crushed Curry# 115659 

TIP:  Spread a thin layer of water all over your image first...it will help your ink flow more evenly.

2. The next color that was used is In-Color 

     Dusty Durango#115654

3. And finally In-Color Bermuda Bay# 115655

The pumpkin image from the stamp set Harvest Home # 111642 was cut out along the edges of the stamped image and then mounted to a piece of 

Bermuda Bay CS # 115317 measuring 1 3/4" by 1 3/4". Increase your next layer by 1/4" on 2 sides to form a 2" by 2" piece of Crushed Curry# 115319.

The largest brown layer , SOFT SUEDE# 115318 measures 3 1/4" by 2 3/4" and

the smaller layer 3 1/2" by 1". They are both stamped with

 SOFT SUEDE classic ink# 115657 and the 

SANDED background stamp # 109294. Don't you just love the texture it creates.

Back panels measure...

Basic Black   3 3/4" by 5"

Dusty Durango   3 1/2" by 4 3/4"

TIP:  Try to cut your layers in 1/4" intervals, then increase or decrease your next layer by 1/4" on both sides.

The thin black strip on the small brown layer measures 3  3/4" by 1/4"

My LITTLE LEAVES #114511 were die cut using my BIG SHOT #113439 and stamped with Soft Suede and the Sanded BG stamp.

The GIVE Thanks sentiment using THE MORE THE MERRIER # 115332 hostess set was stamped and colored using the same method as the pumpkins. Use circle punches 1 1/4" and 1 3/8" to cut out and layer your sentiment.

The Crushed Curry square behind the sentiment measures 1 1/8" by  1 3/8".

For your final touch add 2 black WORD WINDOW punch # 105090 tabs and insert 2 VINTAGE BRADS # 109109 before attaching the whole thing to a VANILLA CS base.

Dazzling Diamonds Glitter #102023...finish it off with a

Pink Rhinestone CIRCLE FIRE brad # 109110

Use the solid side of the polka dotted Melon Mamboo grosgrain 

ribbon # 115611 under your sentiment

Create the corner on your black layer with the TICKET PUNCH # 107214

Or Maybe you want to mix up your color combination

Here I used a Cameo Coral and Pretty in Pink combination with the black and white

I used the same Gray houndstooth background paper and dotted clear transparent sheets from the NIGHT AND DAY SPECIALITY DESIGNER SERIES PAPER # 116768

The sentiment , 1 of 4 sentiments in the OVAL ALL stamp set # 113790 is stamped in cameo coral ink # 103035 on white CS and mounted on a black scalloped oval. I used PRETTY IN PINK  1/4"grosgrain ribbon # 109032 under the sentiment.  Make those cute little pink brads pop by putting a punched black flower underneath before applying.  Boho Blossoms Flower Punch # 110711

How about a SUMMER SUN earthy yellow combination?

Look at those cute yellow flower brads from the Designer Brads Flower 

Assortment # 112583

( 4 colors included in the assortment )

Use 1/4" black gingham grosgrain ribbon # 104832 on top of a piece of white CS punched with the  SCALLOPED EDGE punch # 112091, under your layered sentiment.

Fall Leaves

What Inspires You?    Take a Look around You...I found inspiration in the leaves in my yard on this beautiful Japanese Maple.

Look at the range of colors filtering through the sunlight.

To make this card start with your leaves.

I cut several leaves with my BIG SHOT sizzix  die cutting machine and the sizzix originals die cut LEAVES #2   #113459.

I used card stock colors  Rich Razzleberry  #115316 , More Mustard  #100946 , Always Artichoke  #105119 , Dusty Durango  #115321  and Pumpkin Pie  # 105117  .

To make the leaves have a realistic look....

1. Start with a dense foam pad (paper piercing pad)....I used the one in my 

     MAT PACK # 105826

2. Place your leaves right side down on the mat.

3. I  used my BONE FOLDER # 102300 to create leaf veins.

4. Using your bone folder tip, crease or draw lines/veins in the leafs. 

          TIP:Use a real leaf to see where veins actually start and finish

5. Turn your leaves over.

6. Time to sponge the Rich Razzleberry Ink pad # 115658 on leaf edges 

     and across your veins.

7. Finally, give your leaves an added touch of richness by sponging on some 

    GOLD METALLIC ENCORE ink pad # 101017 on the leaf edges.

Create your card base using card stock AlwaysArtichoke  #105119 

Make your next layer using the TOP NOTE # 113463 die cut and LAVENDER LACE # 101614 card stock

The stitching on your TOP NOTE Layer magically appears when you sponge Rich Razzleberry Ink pad # 115658 on the edges.

Arrange your leaves behind and in front of your top note layer.

Before adhering to your base, wrap the solid side of RICH RAZZLEBERRY  GROSGRAIN RIBBON # 115613 around your top note layer.

Christmas Quilt

 

Quilt Up Some Fun with a Square Punch

First start with a 1- 1/4" square punch # 104400 and  a few sheets of the 

CHRISTMAS COCOA SPECIALTY designer series paper # 116770 (Holiday Mini Catalog)

Punch a total of 6 squares  of various patterns. I then cut each of those six squares on a diagonal making 12 triangles.

Each of those triangles were mounted , side by side and mixing the patterns on a Soft Suede layer measuring 2- 3/4" by 4".

That panel was then mounted on a Real Red layer measuring 3- 1/4" by 4-1/2".

The next layer is Basic black measuring 3-1/2" by 4-3/4".

the last layer is Basic Gray measuring 3- 3/4" by 5".

TIP : Notice there is a 1/4" progression on each of the last 3 layers

The sentiment is from the Hostess set HOLIDAY BEST # 115364

It was stamped using versamark ink # 102283 and embossing with Silver Embossing Powder #109131 first on Shimmery White Metallic paper #101910 and then again using black embossing powder # 109135 on Soft Suede cardstock#115318. The Merry Christmas was cut from the soft suede piece and mounted directly onto the silver embossed Merry Christmas.

Mount your embossed sentiment onto a punched Small Oval # 107304 piece of REAL RED #102482.

Mount that to a punched Scalloped Oval # 114889 piece of Basic Black#102851.

LOOK CLOSELY.........the edge of the black scallop is silver!

It's Silver Metallic ENCORE ink # 101039  just sponged on the edges creating the illusion of another layer.

TIP: Use your heat gun to help dry metallic ink

Quick and Simple Autumn Pumpkin

 

Don't you LOVE these RICH COLORS!

The DSP AUTUMN MEADOWS #116769

creates the jumping off point for choosing your leaf colors using the LITTLE LEAVES die cut 

# 114511.

I used In-Colors, Bermuda Bay, Dusty Durango,

Chocolate Chip and Vanilla

Punch your mustard CS with the Wide Oval punch # 112082 and sponge the edges. I ran mine thru an impressions plate # 114512 to give it a little more texture.

Did you know you can stamp on twill tape?

I used the stamp set Teeny Tiny Wishes # 115370 

and choc chip ink and stamped directly onto the TWILLTAPE # 105245

What's that texture on my leaves you say?

It's Soft Suede # 115657 and the background stamp

Emerging Colors Medallion

Here's a Great TECHNIQUE that you should really

try when you have a chance.....my Stamp Club did!

EMERGING COLORS

1.  First start with white card stock

2. Stamp various images in assorted colors all over your piece. I used the Eastern  Blooms stamp set # 111626 and In-Colors, Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry, Dusty Durango.

3. Prepare for embossing by running  your Embossing Buddy bag#103083 over your entire sheet of inked card stock. The powder in the bag prevents  the embossing powder from going in places you DON'T WANT.

4. Using your VERSAMARK PAD #102283 ink up your entire MEDALLION stamp #115223. Stamp in desired spot on your card stock. In this case I used the lower left hand corner.

5. Immediately cover the inked area with CLEAR EMBOSSING POWDER #109130 and heat with SU Heat Tool # 100005.

6. Final Step is to Brayer# 102395 ink over the entire surface.  In this case I used Soft Suede        #115657.

This is such a fun technique to experience.....you gotta put it on your TO DO LIST

I Love using the sahara sand to give the perfect shading on CS edges without

the color being so heavy.
